ICMCI is delighted to announce that in July 2001, the organization was granted Special Consultative Status by the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This Special Consultative Status is a strategic positioning opportunity that will give ICMCI international recognition.
ECOSOC has endorsed ICMCI’s practice of sending highly qualified and experienced management consultants to countries with less developed economies. ICMCI trains, coaches and mentors local management consultants and fledgling institutes of management consultants in the fundamentals of consulting and networking with other Institutes of Management Consulting (IMC’s) in their region and around the world. ICMCI also assists management consultants in developing a Code of Ethics, standards for membership and certification, and setting up programs to help consultants in neighboring countries.
Having been granted Special Consultative Status, ICMCI Vice Chair Lynn Haight has designated the following official representatives to the UN — to the UN headquarters in New York, the offices in Geneva and Vienna, and special Economic Commissions.
